Zurich Bread Factory and Café is probably the best place to get pastries. French croissants are hands down, and pretty much all other kinds of individual cakes and foods also have the best taste. Given the chef is from France and it’s not too sweet and just right for high-quality pastries. On my days in Luang Prabang, while visited many times there, I ordered French croissants, raspberry Danish, pineapple Danish, make your sandwich with grilled chicken, onions and tomatoes. I even tried their Caesar salad, and this one leads to beat Joma’s Caesar salad. Going back to pastries, qualitywise how Zurich Bread made them are the best in town. French croissants are just like the ones you will find in France. On another day at this restaurant, I ordered make your sandwich option, and it is a wonderful option to choose what ingredients you wanted, so I chose grilled chicken, onions, and tomatoes for the sandwich with whole grain bread. There were three small cups of two sauces and fermented red cabbage. The sandwich was pretty good but overall, not the best. I am not a fan of fermented foods like sauerkraut, but it was okay I would get just the sandwich only. The last dish I ordered from this restaurant was Caesar salad; the only disappointment for this dish is a very small portion. Overall this salad was delicious and probably the best in Luang Prabang. It has romaine lettuce, option to put bacon but I didn’t apply on mine, chicken breast, radicchio leaves, parmesan cheese with Caesar dressing.
What I ordered:
- French Croissants
- Raspberry Danish
- Pineapple Danish
- Make your own sandwich – Chicken, Onions, Tomatoes
- Caesar Salad
Conclusion
I do recommend Zurich Bread Factory and Café and try out many of their selections. They have from western foods to Thai and Lao foods for you to choose. It’s an excellent cozy environment restaurant, and you will not be disappointed. I will give this restaurant from my visitations a 4 out of 5.
