This restaurant used to be near Mekong River; unfortunately, they moved inland near Hôtel Sofitel Luang Prabang. This restaurant is a gem and first Japanese restaurant to experience in Luang Prabang, Laos. Every time I visit, this is one of the places I would visit in need to crave Japanese foods. The site doesn’t look like a restaurant, and it is like a house converted just the front side like a restaurant. Their menu is fantastic, and one of their menu options has a dish I ate since I studied at Saitama University in Japan. This dish is called Chicken Namban, which gives a nostalgic feeling to me when seeing this food available in Luang Prabang. The recipe serves miso soup and rice/potatoes and chicken with vinegar covered and special tartar sauce. This food is delicious, and I would come again to remember this place as it is only in Luang Prabang. If I miss Japanese foods, I will come here to eat.
Conclusion
If I miss Japanese foods, I will come here to eat. I will give this place a 4 out of 5 just because the meals are tasty and that’s what is most important. Again this place you will miss it because of how low profile the restaurant is, and it is also a hidden gem. The owner is friendly and loves cats. Also to keep in mind this place closes on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday thru Saturday 11:30 – 15:00 and opens again at 18:00 – 21:00.
